Rise of Eldrazi Set Review - White
This is fifth of a 6 part review series on Rise of Eldrazi, the 3rd set of the Zendikar Block. White
Affa Guard Hound – In limited there appears to be room for a “weenie” strategy and this melon farmer fits it like a glove. A 3 mana 2/2 is not the stat god we all want to play with, but having flash and a “butt pump” (tehehe) makes him a great defensive player or a surprise savior to one of your guys late in the game. Thumbs up for 40 card decks with this dude in them.
Caravan Escort – in essence a 2/2 haste for 3 mana that you can have ready to go with only 2 lands and on turn 2. Fine in limited, and not getting there in constructed.

Rise of Eldrazi Set Review - Red
This is fifth of a 6 part review series on Rise of Eldrazi, the 3rd set of the Zendikar Block. Red
Akoum Borderfoot – Pretty big body but its come into play effect is not special. 1 damage... I mean Raging Goblin much????
Battle Rampart – Nothing special here like I enjoy hasty stuff and this guy can block some stuff but really it isn't particularly good or WOW!

Rise of Eldrazi Set Review - Green
This is forth of a 6 part review series on Rise of Eldrazi, the 3rd set of the Zendikar Block. Green Ancient Stirrings – a pretty nice tool kit kind of card in the right deck. This can search you out an Eldrazi or Land or Artifact. It's pretty powerful.
Aura Gnarlid – If you stick a “totem aura” on this dude hes is kinda out of control kinda quick. In limited he is a potentially serious threat early in games that figure to take a while in most cases. In theory, on turn 4 you could have a 5/5 that is very difficult to block and untaps all of your land (that is of course if you throw Bear Umbra onto it) just saying a 2/2 for 3 isn't great but the next turn could be bad if an opponent is caught naked of instant speed removal. Plus, this dude goes right into the Enchantress deck I am def going to build. Last Updated (Thursday, 22 April 2010 19:55)

Rise of Eldrazi Set Review - Multi, Colorless and Non-Basic Lands
This is third of a 6 part review series on Rise of Eldrazi, the 3rd set of the Zendikar Block. Colorless
All Is Dust – At 7 mana ordinarily a card like this has a range of play that is fairly low, however with no colored mana involved this card is splashable in a way that something equivalent, like Akroma's Vengeance (which costs 6 with 2 white that saw a lot of play) or Planar Cleansing (which costs 6 with 3 white which is not seeing play) wouldn't. Any deck that needs a “Wrath” this could be a viable answer for them. I personally do not like the card because a deck in need of a mass removal spell (like Planeswalker Control for instance which would probably be playing Day of Judgment anyway) because this also destroys your Jace or Sorin or Ajani Vengeant which sucks and not in the totally awesome way, but there is room to look at this card, even if it turns out you're just going to dismiss it in the end.
Artisan of Kozilek – 10/9 that gets a buddy back and does the Eldrazi “I'm big and if I attack you this game might actually be over before I deal damage” a.k.a. Annihilator. The giant monsters in this set are going to make the world slightly more interesting as far as standard is concerned, I say slightly because Jund is still playable and still good. Which isn't to say that they don't make a dent because I think they do, I suspect there will be a deck that abuses the more powerful Eldrazi, which I will talk about later. But this guy is Uncommon so in limited he is probably a first pick or close and the giant stuff makes for a wholly different format than ZZZ or ZZW which could be lightning fast. Rise of Eldrazi Set Review - Blue
This is second of a 6 part review series on Rise of Eldrazi, the 3rd set of the Zendikar Block. Rise of Eldrazi Set Review - Blue
Aura Finesse – This pseudo equips an Aura to a different creature at instant speed and replaces itself in your hand. I can get behind this, in as much as there are some good auras in this set and there is an “enchantress” and “rabid wombat” (that is the same card) and this could prove useful if that theoretical deck that I would absolutely love were to materialize.
Cast Through Time – I've tried my best not to disregard any card in this set as too expensive, because if I didn't the entire “colorless” section would be: “F___ Me that's expensive” and “It's big...” The difference here is, those Eldrazi can end the game all by their lonesome. This card needs a deck built around it in order to be a close approximation of what sticking a giant Eldrazi is. And like Warp Word and Maelstrom Nexus it's probably just not going to get there because Cast Through Time is very very very very very very expensive for a card that doesn't do anything on its own. Rise of Eldrazi Set Review - Black
This is first of a 6 part review series on Rise of Eldrazi, the 3rd set of the Zendikar Block. Arrogant Bloodlord – SO a 4/4 for 1BB... It isn't better than nighthawk but this card has constructed playability written all over it.
Bala Ged Scorpion – Kills an Eldrazi Spawn (and thus setting back your opponent 1 mana) or caps a 1/1 that's being a bother. This card is overwhelmingly acceptable, but not particularly overwhelming.
Baneful Omen – hahahahahaha <---- This is the person with this in play after showing all opponents 15 damage to the dome. Hahahahahaha <----This is me while my opponent is cold because they cant pay 7 for an enchantment that may in fact just show me a land and I take none then I crush their brains out the back of their skull with my 8 mana eldrazi. In short this card doesn't have a place in the world. (Multiplayer of course not being part of the world that I live in). Last Updated (Tuesday, 20 April 2010 14:33)

AKA Rage Rage Against the Dying of your life Total - Dylan Thomas by way of red 1/1s
2 Months…. You missed me. I know you did. They told me so, 8 or 10,576 times on Friday. And I boys and girl (there might be 2 of you... but I'm not actually sure).
The last time we spoke i was botching the casting cost of Bestial Menace, and telling you the Collar should be Uncommon (it should, and if it had been, 50% chance it doesn't have the break out it has had although, YES IT WAS BETTER THAN I THOUGHT.)

So I was not planning on playing Legacy cause I did not have a deck. I was not planning on covering Legacy because of the unfortunateness that occurred the time prior. I was just there to hang out and I guess some one though it'd be funny to put a bunch of islands in my hand. Jokes on them! I was playing Merfolk with some fairly bad alterations because we were short a few Aether Vials. Pretty big subtraction for the deck but it was alright. I borrowed from Keith McLaughlin and the ubiquitous Evil Jared and was ready to get my 0-2 on. Last Updated (Thursday, 11 February 2010 20:42)

This article is a week past when it was supposed to be published, the staff has been beaten properly. *ALL CHARACTERS IN THIS WRITING ARE FICTION, ANY RESEMBLANCE TO ANY PERSON OR EVENT LIVING OR DEAD IS UNINTENTIONAL. (as far as you know)
After finishing the first part of the titanic undertaking I came to the realization that in order to complete this I would need to play in another Magic tournament AND win it with Jund in order to bring this analogy I am building with the deck and The Galactic Empire full circle. Bag that. Wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy too much work. Not going to happen.
You know what'd be better?
I'm taking a page from the last girl who I saw naked and faking it! (HIYO!)
That's right! I'm making up an event instead of playing in one just to suit my whim to write a two part expose where I get to make a bunch of Star Wars references and opine about my love about Natalie Portman!

GREEN
• Arbor Elf – The best part of this card is the flavor text. • Avenger of Zendikar – Somewhere a 7 year old pooed a little when they saw this. I'm not 7, I'm not impressed. • Bestial Menace – a 3/3, 2/2, 1/1 for 5 mana? YEAH I'll Bituminous Blast into that. I'll just cast it. Whatever. This card is really quite nice! (Note from the Editor: You can not Cascade into this card with Bituminous Blast.)

WHITE
• Admonition Angel – Six mana for a 6/6 Flyer. I'll take it! Wait, Wait there's more! Whenever you play a land you get and Oblivion Ring. My rain falled out my face jar... • Apex Hawks – Limited. Not going to happen anywhere else. • Archon of Redemption – This card is good, but it costs 3WW. Know what else costs 3WW? I'll give you a hint, it slays bane. In Block expect to see this sultry (I just discovered first hand how easy it is to confuse sultry and slutty when typing) little number more that once. • Battle Hurda – Only have 39 card in your draft deck and already have 18 lands? Here's your guy :(

Set review of Worldwake starting with Black and Red. BLACK
• Abyssal Persecutor – 6/6 Flying, Trample for 2BB. Jesus “Ice Skating” Christ • Agadeem Occultist – Shrugs. I'm not a fan, but I won't be shocked when I get beaten by it. • Anowon, the Ruin Sage – Good. Great in Block. Vampires just put up big numbers in a 5k and this set is full of new toys. It's like Twilight – Sparkle. • Bloodhusk Ritualist - Also pretty solid, I'm not sure this takes the spot filled by Mind Sludge, but it may.

In a game store on a numbered street in a state in a country on a planet in a solar system very near and dear to my heart I wrote this: Darth Vader: (Labored Breathing) “Luke, join me on the dark side of the force it's totally awesome!” Luke Skywalker: “You're right dad, being a Jedi sucks. Sith for life! Now let's go Death Star the poo balls outta those little Ewok jerks!!!!” Darth Vader: “That's my boy!! You know on the dark side of the force we don't frown on incest... Just sayin'.” Luke Skywalker: “LEIAAAAAAAAAAA!”
