GREEN
• Arbor Elf – The best part of this card is the flavor text.
• Avenger of Zendikar – Somewhere a 7 year old pooed a little when they saw this. I'm not 7, I'm not impressed.
• Bestial Menace – a 3/3, 2/2, 1/1 for 5 mana? YEAH I'll Bituminous Blast into that. I'll just cast it. Whatever. This card is really quite nice! (Note from the Editor: You can not Cascade into this card with Bituminous Blast.)
• Canopy Cover – Limited evasion is good. Won't sniff a constructed format.
• Explore - 2nd best common in the set behind Treasure Hunt. It's just the best Rampant Growth variant ever printed! If you have a third land cool, it's in play on turn 3, if you don't maybe you draw it, then it's in play on turn 3!!!
• Feral Contest – Meh. This is the kind of card I lose drafts to but, I don't like it.
• Gnarlid Pack – He is a Bear or an overpriced 3/3... What else you need to know?
• Grappler Spider – Blocks Flyers. That makes him playable.
• Graypelt Hunter – Solid Ally to go alongside the Bear Ally from Zendikar but nothing particularly spicy here.
• Groundswell – Pumps. But sneaky Pumps if you have a fetch in play. I like this card; it can totally take an opponent off guard if they are not paying close attention in a game.
• Joraga Warcaller – Really nice Elf pumper, but I am not sure this forces an elf deck into the upper tiers of the Standard meta. However, in Block, with Nissa and her Chosen and some others alongside Eldrazi Monument something could come together for the green Goblins...
• Leatherback Baloth – GGG 4/5 maybe actually good... at some point. I really want to address something though - WotC I know you guys think it's clever, the flavor text is god awful. Just the worst.
• Nature's claim – until an enchantment or artifact becomes truly relevant this card is also no relevant.
• Omnath, Locus of Mana – this isn't any good right? What do you need a bunch of green mana for? I don't like it. He's a 1/1. And after someone breaks it I'll look like a fool for saying it's not good.
• Quest for Renewal – In the same world where Leatherback Baloth is good I think this can be good. If you are a mono green aggro deck, perhaps with an elf sub theme you could get this active quickly and then the Omnath, Locus of Mana I just said was not any good could be saving mana on both players turns...and my nose just started bleeding...moving on
• Slingbow Trap – actually says “if vampire nighthawk is attacking you” I like that. Other than that, this card is fine in limited and it kills Baneslayer.
• Snapping Creeper – Like this Plant in limited but that's all folks.
• Strength of the Tajuru – Just crush the crap out of an opponent as a defensive trick or end the game on an inefficient block. Just back breaking.
• Summit Apes – This guy will almost always kill 2 dudes if you have a Mountain which is fairly solid... In a 40 card deck. In a 60 card deck he eats a removal spell like it were a banana, cause monkeys love bananas.
• Terastodon – Card is good. Essentially says destroy 3 land put 3 3/3 into play right? So for 8 mana you get a 9/9, destroy 3 land, 3/3, 3/3, 3/3. that's really really really good.
• Vastwood Anamist – Don't see this card really living up to it's potential because if he is ever in a position to do real damage your opponent kills it, if not he is just an over priced 1/1. But he could be powerful.
• Vastwood Zendikon – 6/4 for 4 mana is solid. I think this is a fair card for limited but nothing really promising beyond that.
• Wolfbriar Elemental – 4 mana 4/4 is solid 4 mana 4/4 +2/2 good and each multikicker actually makes this card better. The only multikicker card to achieve this. Green players be proud!
MULTICOLORED
• Novablast Wurm – This guy is really powerful. However, I don't think it has a home. Where does it really fit? I do not see it. Build it and they will come, as they say...
• Wrexial, the Risen Deep – This guy could just be sick. He could be terrible, be picture hitting an opponent with an ultimatum in the bin... You're drooling right? It's cool, wipe it up then let's move on to artifacts.
Artifacts
• Amulet of Vigor – Lands? Yeah I guess it has applications but they are not particularly obvious or powerful or, you know, good. Man Lands I suppose but that feels so clunky and awkward. Blech...moving on.
• Basilisk collar – good in limited but not much else, oh and p.s. Worst rare in the set? Could be. This should be an uncommon for sure.
• Everflowing Chalice – this card has Evil Jared fully wet in the pants. I like it, think it's good but, the format is full of 3 color decks, and this produces zero colored manas.
• Hammer of Ruin – meh.
• Hedron Rover – 4 mana 2/2? No thanks.
• Kitesail – This card is totally fine, flying, or evasion of any kind is important in limited formats.
• Lodestone Golem – Give this guy a set or two...
• Pilgrims Eye – This is a colorless Borderland Ranger! Shut Up! This is almost a auto 4 of in 3 color decks not running green. It helps so much because playing lands that come into play tapped is so bad!
• Razor Boomerang – Unimpressed.
• Seer's Sundial – half the time, you've just spent 4 mana on a card that sits around doing nothing.
• Walking Atlas – another potential 40th card. ONLY if you are a slightly slow but aggressive landfall deck.
Land
• Bojuka Bog – WotC: “Dredge was a mistake, We are sorry.”
• Celestial Colonnade - 2nd best of the bunch. Going to crush Block Constructed, it slides right into what was already the best deck.
• Creeping Tar Pits – Best of the Best. Your opponent kills it or it kills them. There is no in between on this card.
• Dread Statuary – going to cost more than one person a match in limited, also going to win more than it's fair share of limited matches. This card is dangerous.
• Eye of Ugin – No Clue. Call me next set.
• Halimar Depths – Thumbs up! A mini Sensei's Divining Top. That can make Treasure Hunt sickening.
• Halimar Depths – Forest is better.
• Lavaclaw Reaches – the Firebreathing is colorless so is could just kill some body but, it is only a 2/2 with no evasion/
• Quicksand – This card has been good every single time. It's good now. It kills Bloodbraid Elf for god's sake.
• Raging Ravine – it's a 4/4 that just get's bigger and bigger if they don't kill it... it's good
• Sejiri Steppe – blow outs will happen in limited!
• Smoldering Spires – this will happen to sideboards in limited!
• Stirring Wildwood – Long story short, all of the man lands are good!!!!!
• Tectonic Edge – I'm skeptical but I like this card. Skeptical.
• Arbor Elf – The best part of this card is the flavor text.
